Freckles are small brown spots on the skin usually in areas exposed to the sun: in  face, décolleté, shoulders and back of hands.

They differ from freckles which are generally smaller in size  and vary in shade from red to brown. They often become more intense in summer and fade or disappear when not exposed to the sun. Freckles also weaken with age.

Freckles are formed most often in the summer as a result of overproduction of melanin (which is responsible for skin color), by stimulation with ultraviolet (UV) radiation but also by hormonal disorders during pregnancy, after hormone therapy, etc. and from photoaging (mainly after 30).

They are more common in people with light skin tones.

To treat them, depending on the case, various means are used such as special cosmetics, Laser, Peelings (Chemical peeling with substances AHA, BHA, TCA), Mesotherapy with antioxidants, etc.
